Seen Through The Eyes of Friends: My Reflection Through The Talents and Hearts of Fellow Artists

As many of you know, I enjoy sharing the world I inhabit through the lens of my experience as a musician and artist currently based in the corner of the multiverse we call San Diego, CA. It occurs to me, however, that it would be fascinating and special to literally change perspective, and share with you how my gifted and creative friends and colleagues see one of their own through their talented eyes and hearts.

In this post, I am including just a small sample of art that has been generated over the past few years by creative friends dear to me, which include (in no particular order): Jessy Parr, Nick Lane, Ashley Montoya, Laurie Nasica, Jonny Alexander, Heather Yancey, and Connor Getzlaff.

These works range from portraits, to album art, to captures of candid moments during performances, and include the media of both photography and drawing.

It thrills me to no end to be surrounded and inspired by passionate, kindred, creative spirits like these, and I look forward to sharing similar collaborations in the near future. As always, thanks for tuning in.

New Video for R. Stevie Moore's "Boysage"

I'm over the moon to share a new video for the 2015 R. Stevie Moore single, "Boysage". The father of lo-fi/mo-fi wrote a real gem here, and it's a profound privilege to be playing drums on this track. I've written about the digital release and upcoming Bleeding Gold vinyl split single with Japanese artist Boys Age earlier.

The visual talent behind the video is Ken Linck. Fans of stop motion and claymation videos will find a treasure trove of enjoyment on his Youtube channel

Thanks for checking out the music, the video, and as always -- thanks for tuning in!

Spring and Summer Shows, and a New Album with G Burns Jug Band

Spring is well under way here in America's Finest City, and I'm excited to be populating my spring and summer calendar with G Burns Jug Band gigs. On my trusty washboard, I will be playing behind some of the most talented musicians I know, namely Clinton Davis (guitar, tenor banjo, fiddle, mandolin, lead vocals), Batya MacAdam-Somer (fiddle, vocals) Jonathan Piper (tuba, jug, vocals), and Meghann Welsh  (accordion, tenor banjo, lead vocals)

Thanks to all who have shown such  interest in this project. Every show I've played with this band has been well attended, musically rewarding, and fun, so I am very appreciative to have experienced that here in San Diego, at the Wintergrass Festival, and beyond.

Thanks for staying tuned in!
