Many friends and colleagues have been asking me for more details about the Burger Records Festival at Los Globos in L.A. next month. I've been sleuthing, and here is some more info on this exciting event:
I will be participating as a Blind Date, drumming for the one and only Gary Wilson. Besides the normal thrill of backing that legend up, I'm super excited to catch mo-fi pioneer (not lo-fi!) R. Stevie Moore's performance. But the awesomeness doesn't stop there! Burger Records is pulling out all the stops on this one, including Jacuzzi Boys (I'm including a video of one of my favorite songs by them here), the Garden, Cherry Glazerr, and so many more, as you can see on this poster.
I can only imagine who the "special guest" is, but judging by the lineup, it's going to be someone pretty amazing.
The venue for this all ages BBQ extravaganza, Los Globos (http://www.clublosglobos.com), is located on L.A.'s fabled Sunset Blvd. This historic location has been around since the 1930s, and was originally the city's first American Legion hall. The space's credits include formerly hosting one of L.A.'s first openly gay clubs, as well as the country's first legal rave.
I can't wait for this one, and I'm sure I'll be posting more about it as it nears. Thanks for staying tuned in!
